AGWC - Pride (In The Name Of Love)

IDE (in the name of love)
Pride (in the name of love) was performed on the Thursday before Pride in St Andrews Church in Hove.  It was a wonderful evening. Actually Gay Women’s Chorus were joined by soloists Samantha Howard and Gabriella as they celebrated Love, Freedom & Pride!

Both the Actually Gay Women’s Chorus and the Actually Gay Men's Chorus took part in the PRIDE PARADE.

Come into the Parlour...........
A very warm welcome awaited us when we arrived at Brighton Town Hall, from the current Mayor and Mayoress of Brighton and Hove, Councillor Brian Fitch and his wife Norah Fitch

Thrilled to receive an invitation for a reception in the Mayors Parlour, members of both Choruses arrived expectantly outside the grade 1 listed building in Bartholomew Square on Wednesday 3rd September.

We were duly shown inside and ushered up the grand staircase to where Brian and Norah were waiting to greet each of us individually and to offer us a glass of wine and refreshments from the buffet, (Norah was pleased to point out that she had got rainbow cookies especially for us).
We were made to feel incredibly welcome and privileged during our visit and wish Brian and Norah a very happy and successful year in office. Needless to say their diary includes 23rd December at St Andrew's where we hope to make them feel equally welcome.

Then one summer's evening.........

Hosted by one of our members who has a beech hut we had a marvellous fun BBQ on the Beech. It was a great evening with everyone bringing food to cook and food to share!

Runner up for our "Queen of the Desert"

The chorus are absolutely thrilled to be awarded "runner up" out of over 80 floats at Brighton Pride 2014.

With the help of our resident expert designer Patrick Bullock, we spent our Sunday's through June and July designing, sticking and pasting to produce a disco explosion.
