for Twas the Night Before Christmas.
Women of the World, was a celebration of song and culture from across the globe'. Keen to make her mark with Actually Gay Women's Chorus, Miranda Gunn put together a wonderful repertoire inspired by women's choirs and female composers, full of amazing harmonies and rhythms. The performance was at St Andrew's Church.
What is happening now ...
Actually Gay Women's Chorus are now settled into their new rehearsing studio- that's what it feels like on Wednesday evenings anyway- Upstairs at the Bulldog St James's St Brighton. From 7.50pm, but for December will be rehearsing at St Andrew's in Hove in readiness for Twas the Night Before Christmas on 23rd December.
Actually Gay Women's Chorus joined up with the city's other LGBT choruses at St Mary's Church Kemptown for the World Aids Day Concert on 1 December. What a splendid experience it was to be singing in such a wonderful church, packed with supporters of the cause with the glorious singing reaching for the rafters. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and very interesting to hear the other choirs performing at the same event. All the choirs sang wonderfully but it was gratifying for AGWC to be specially mentioned by GScene in its review.
The repertoire is carefully selected and arranged for female voices singing together. The Chorus usually sing purely as a woman's choir but the winter term provides opportunities to link up with the Actually Gay Men's Chorus to share in seasonal festivities.

SHOWTIME was the first solo show for Actually Gay Women's Chorus. It included favourites from the shows as well as more modern numbers arranged specially for the Chorus by Jason Pimblett.
Some songs from Showtime are still favourites in the current repertoire.
